Pure — Chair 2019
The design of this chair is about two very simple forms, a blade and an arch, coming together to create a subtle contrast between the slightly tapering seat-back and the gentle curve of the arch.
The chair’s form also explores the idea of the unusual visual balance between the base of the arch, which sits on the floor, and the seat-back, which does not touch the floor or the sides of the arch.
The indoor version of the chair is upholstered, the outdoor version is in polished off-white concrete.
